Bilingual Special Education’s Mission

The Bilingual Special is a professional network of leaders dedicated to advancing the success of multilingual students with and without disabilities. We accomplish our mission through advocacy, professional development, and dissemination of research and evidenced-based practices in schools through the lens of equity and inclusion in schools.

Bilingual Special Education’s Vision

Demonstrated forward-thinking and research-informed practices focused on development of educators to provide equitable, inclusive, responsive pedagogical practice that supports the growing multilingual and diverse community where we live.

Demonstrated by ethical and equitable dissemination of research- and evidenced-based instructional models of instructional prevention and strategic intervention, advocacy for policies that represent diverse students with disabilities, and support for diverse families who have limited opportunity to advocate for themselves and the rights of their children.

The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.
